Bye, bye tablets
Today I went to the pharmacy to get rid of a bag of expired medication. I am always grateful they are willing to take my medication and dispose of it properly.
All medication should be thrown out by their expiry date as they can change into dangerous compounds over time. They should be disposed of via the local pharmacy to ensure a clean water supply and environment.
I discovered while going through my stash that hormones, such as thyroxine, generally expire within twelve months or less, and can quickly become unstable. I also found the expiry date on most tubes is found on the crimped end.
Check with your doctor and pharmacist to ensure this is to date, and regularly go through your medication. I've learnt that there is no point hoarding medical products!
